Hello there,
I'm new here, so thanks for having me.
I like to think I make music but you'll be judging that.
I live off-grid and record on solar powered equipment.
Here's a little taste of my new concept album:

Cheers!

@BestGirlGrace there exist print-it-yourself sheets and such, but I'm not sure if that's what you're already looking at.

@thegibson@hackers.town iirc, this is a common setup for industrial operations that use third party hardware/machines that an outside vendor provides support for.

Hey, @scoots needs about $150 to cover the cost of a nerve test they need and their insurance won't cover. The nerve issue the test is meant to address (as I understand it) causes pain in their back and drawing arm, makes it very difficult to get things done, and measurably reduces their quality of life.

Would you please help out, by donating and/or boosting this post? Their art is beautiful and their commissions are open, if you'd like to get something back for your donation: ko-fi.com/bugpaws

A dear friend is opting for top surgery. Trying to make a care package for 'em - if you had a mastectomy pillow, would you be willing to talk dimensions with me? Lots of these are written by people who are donating them to cancer groups and I'm not seeing feedback from people who used them, and some of these measurements seem awfully one size, so I'd love to hear user input before I start sewing.

Hello! 438punk.house is hosting / organizing a Fun-A-Day this February and we wanna invite members of our instance (or anyone else who wants) to participate!

Basically, the idea is that you pick an activity or project and you try to do it and/or work on it every day during the month of February. More details to come :PunkFelix:

You can use the hashtag #FunADay to keep track of your progress and see others', and this account will be boosting participants and giving updates.

:boost_ok: !!

re: Uspol, Signal

@adam @teh_dude @thegibson@hackers.town basic thought, but it might've been accessing Bluetooth, which can look like GPS access because of some Android thing. If not, carry on, just worth maybe mentioning.

public health, immunocompromised and disabled, personal

I know I'm just one person, but if you're disabled, immunocompromised, chronically ill, or have a kid that can't get vaccinated --

I care about you, I hate the tone society is taking towards your health and dignity, and I'm going to keep doing everything I can, and nagging everyone else to do the same.

It's not my place to tell you that you matter, because of freaking course you do.

Nobody gets to decide this pandemic is over.

And until the FACTS and DATA reflect that it is, I'm going to be as responsible as possible. I value everyone's life. :ancomheart:

@polymerwitch this sounds a lot like what we had in mind with Cyberia, too. We're not exclusively leftist, but we're definitely primarily leftist.

You're welcome to poke around our matrix and see what you like / what you don't like about it, and if it's easier, too just vibe with us. :)

US free covid at-home tests, Medicaid, +

Looks like Medicaid is going to be required to cover the free at-home tests.

I don't know whether it'll be covered up front or reimbursed. I'm going to call my Virginia Medicaid and ask how to do all this.

If you have Medicaid or CHIP, might try making that call yourself and see if you can get these.

Hey all, I have a sincere request. Please boost if you can.

I am helping some wonderful people in Merauke in West Papua learn more about their colonial past. I have always supported the Papuan people in their struggle for self-knowledge and freedom.

Could anyone who speaks Dutch please help me translate this text here into English?

I am going to then help translate this text with them into Indonesian. If someone knows how to translate Dutch into Indonesian, that would be just perfect!!

Again, please boost.

Relationship posting, cold weather

There is a very nice feeling when it is cold outside, but you are warm and in good company.

@garbados reminds me a bit of my friend @forestjohnson 's project to do in-browser p2p torrent stuff.

@apisashla we are very open to non developers, though sometimes we do talk a lot about esoteric software stuff. I don't follow all of that talk, myself, either, even though I work in software. We try to keep the super technical stuff in -me-learn or other side channels, but it kinda gets everywhere. 😅

So long as you're comfy running into kinda dense convos sometimes and scrolling past em, you should have a pretty good time. We have lots of folks who are students, self taught, etc etc.

We call ourselves a computer club as in "a group of people who like computers" rather than as in "a group of people who are good at computers". That distinction is pretty important, since as soon as people start caring about 'technological merit', you can get people who are mean, but smart, and are thus tolerated. Aurynn Shaw wrote an excellent essay on this if you're into a deeper dive blog.aurynn.com/2017/04/13-the .

So, you're very welcome to hang out with us, we'd love to have ya. :)
