@vortex_egg working with community libraries might be a good start. It'd be awesome if I could ask a librarian an question and, if the question is weird enough, they'd send me to the relevant academic to help.
Obv, there's some anti abuse stuff, etc etc, but it might be a path forward.

@socketwench I think I have epubs of the whole series. You're welcome to them, if you'd like. They're also for sale in normal ebook places.
@socketwench can I drop a Minneapolis-local author recommendation?
If you haven't read her stuff, Lyda Morehouse is fun. The first book or so in the LINK Angels series is kinda hetero-Christian tame, but her worldbuilding is phenomenal. She's a lesbian and writes a lot of romance, mostly straight, and she's really nice.
The LINK Angel series is set in a cyberpunk theocracy with narrative themes of AI sovereignty/identity, the 'rest of the world' when the US and Europe do things, plus some gender-deviant angels (cw: there's some misgendering) and some remarkably cool hackers. It's really fun. The first book in the series is Archangel Protocol.
I'm reading Harrow the Ninth, sequel to Gideon the Ninth. It's about futuristic necromancers in space. With big sapphic energy.
i like kind machines. pro-people-not-dying. anti-nazi. anti-colonizer. pagan, but lazy about it.
