People wanting E2EE for private messages in Mastodon like I don't get it. You didn't have that in Twitter, or Facebook, or anywhere else, so how did it suddenly become a priority for ActivityPub servers to solve?

With who? WhatsApp or something? Signal? Telegram? Those are different apps, realtime chat as well.
