wireless adb allowing me to open a adb shell on the device locally is just kinda wacky i didnt think I'd be allowed this level of permission.

@lyncia iirc the problem with that for me was that you need a wired adb connection to tell it to enable wireless, and that doesn't survive a reboot. so when my USB C connector failed on my pixel 2 i had to use an SSH daemon and the fact that my phone was already rooted to save myself
@lyncia yeah i have a 9 now that i still haven't fully moved to because getting all my old crap working on it was so annoying for the reasons you described

@wyatt the only old apps ive had to do this with are old games so far.

better than it not being possible at all i suppose but still a little irritating

@lyncia my launcher of choice, my old adobe air game builds that i made for myself for random flash games, a rotation-forcing program, a volume control program, a sound recorder, a calculator emulator, nd several other things I'm forgetting right now.
@tauon @lyncia it is very nice, although the backgrounds have been breaking as phone resolution climbs higher and higher, so i had to add some padding and do clever ninjutsu to make it look acceptable.
Setting the screen resolution lower with the 'wm' command can also help.

btw the shell command for the menu button is 'input keyevent 82'.
@lyncia @tauon i like the ti-89, although my favourite calc is the hp-28s so far.
i have both physically.
unfortunately the closest emulator i've found on android is for hp-48 (a close relative with a worse key layout)
@lyncia @tauon agreed, both are, i am continually impressed.
sometimes it feels like actual magic

@wyatt @tauon the things ive seen done on the 84 plus alone are stunning

@lyncia @tauon 84 is much less impressive for the typical mathematical calculation purposes, but for people exploiting it i agree
