It's fun to compare people from different eras. You can't really compare Merckx to Coppi due to the wars, and due to Coppi being Itallian (and therefore focussing on the Giro more than Le Tour)
It has to be said though, that Coppi never competed too many single day races.
Merckx was an absolute god of the sport on the road of course, but then do we talk about Roger de Vlamenk who won Roubaix while being the current World Cyclocross Champ (a feat only done by Van Der Poel this year)
It's fun to speculate of course.

Though the accolade of "greatest of all time" has to come with the side effect of making gods look like mere mortals. Pulidor is an incredible cyclist, Ocana, and Van Imp, and many others were absolutely cracked. Can't have a champion if there's only chumps racing against them

@MxCraven she was the german champion in downhill racing like 7 times. only started riding at 31 iirc, there was a nice interview in the worldofmountainbike magazine in 2020 iirc. so someone with ridiculous talent like her at her prime would be amazing to witness riding.

It's a shame there's very little footage of Antje Kramer. I recognise the name but that's about it :(
