AI meta musings
AI takes on fedi are odd because I'll be going through a reply chain and even though everyone agrees that it's bad a lot of the arguments come across as wrong/bad to me? As in sure we end up the same place but I have no idea how you did.

How do I explain it? I am maybe the most die hard person in my irl social circles, so it's not a matter of differing opinions on the combined subject.. But sometimes the takes are just so bad? Like fully flawed logically, totally anecdotal, or just seemingly unrelated to the conversation?
Maybe it's just a really fragmented understanding of the subject leading to many different views on it but it's just odd. It makes me feel bad to be agreeing with someone whose arguments I disagree with or don't even understand.

I don't feel that my understanding is flawed, but I do feel the heavy dissonance with people who are positively positioned on the subject. I usually just don't engage with it in those cases because it's such a leap to get from positively inclined to my position... But having almost similar dissonance with people who I seemingly agree with is an odd experience.

@rune (Tangentially, I've noticed that people in general seem to have a very accurate sense of when something feels "off" and is suspicious, but a very *inaccurate* sense of whether others share those feelings, often wrongly believing they are the only one or conversely that they are wrong for disagreeing. Which can also create some *weird* dynamics around controversial topics...)
