Hey fedi, so I have this cheap doohickey for using computers away from a desk. It's got a touch pad and keys and is absolutely the right solution for the problem
But it sucks. The keys start bad and if used too much stop registering reliably, the touch pad ain't great, and it keeps losing connection to the dongle despite it being like 8 feet away
Is there some kind of premium version of these that exists? So far I've only ever seen the terrible dirt cheap ones for sale anywhere
(If you don't mind plz boost for reach I am *desperate*)
EDIT: to be clear the handheld/gamepad-like form factor is what makes this work so a more traditionally keyboard shaped device with an additional trackpad isn't really a suitable replacement

@eniko I used to use the Logitec Keyboard with touchpad for my TV PC. It was ok, but did not spark joy. Using the touchpad after a hard day gave me tennis elbow. Now I'm with an air mouse that is also a rudimentary IR remote and has a mini keyboard on the back side.

For when I need to do actual typing I have a bigger keyboard with touch pad arround.

@eniko @flxtr It essentially has an accelerometer and estimates where you're "pointing" at the screen by observing the movements of the device in 3D space. You'd use it kind of like a Wiimote but without a receiver.
(The estimation is surprisingly good but I've found them to be jittery and not really suitable for anything more precise than a TV-style interface with big buttons)

@joepie91 @eniko @flxtr i have the same "air mouse". when in mouse mode the central OK button is left click, but i didn’t find any way to do a right click. the button bottom-left of OK is the "open context menu" keyboard key which only sometimes does the same as right click would (if the target has focus somehow)
