The two genders of woodworking video:

1. "Here's how I turned a free pallet into a $5000 coffee table (using $8000 of equipment and $2000 of consumable supplies that I didn't mention)"

2. "Here's a 15 minute ad for my woodworking plans that pretends to be an educational video but leaves out crucial details"

@joepie91 every time... One woodworker I saw. Two videos, each badmouthing IKEA and people who shop there because "you can make way better quality furniture for cheaper" and then using his huge barn full of professional tools and 14 days of his time to make 2 tables.

I don't even get it, those people often sell furniture and complain that IKEA and similar are setting unrealistic price expectations. Isn't it their motivation to... Dunno, explain how expensive it actually is to do this?

@shine Honestly, anyone who tells you that making your own furniture is "cheaper than store-bought" is either a filthy liar or conveniently has a pal giving them free wood to use. The material alone is going to be more expensive than the store-bought thing.
