I'm not sure if this is just my recommendations bubble, but I've been noticing a significant uptick on YouTube lately of non-Linux-nerds publishing "why I'm switching to <FOSS thing>" videos, with their motivation being mainly practical, political or ideological (rather than technical).
It's interesting to see and I'm not entirely sure where this pattern started.
@joepie91 Obviously one shouldn't exaggerate or get all "year of Linux on the desktop"-ey, but there does seem to be a gathering momentum. Not sure if it's the political climate, or the increasingly awful experience of using Windows as a consumer, or the growing stability and capability of Linux as a gaming platform, or the popularisation of user-friendly distros like Mint, or some combination of those things, or something else entirely. But it's real.
