@joepie91 In general terms the rule is, feel sick, take a test and/or go home; think of the health of your fellow hackers. Tests and masks will be prominently and freely available on venue. 2/2
@eth0 I see. Regarding ventilation, have you considered Corsi-Rosenthal boxes, and/or adding an optional fundraising add-on to the ticket page along the lines of "sponsor active air filtering to make the event safe for everyone"?
@joepie91 We will consider it! Active air filtering is definitely on our radar. We are in talks with some possible sponsors that are interested in making the event as accessible as possible, and this might be one of the options. Thanks for pointing it out!
@eth0 @joepie91 First of all, thanks for having a sane policy and extending the recently established tradition of caring about ventilation at eth0!
I wonder if we can crowd-source air purifiers. Maybe together we have enough. I will bring 2. One will be in whichever bedroom I end up in (preferrably, with others who care about this, so they don't mind its noise :)) while I sleep, and is available elsewhere during the rest of the day. 2nd is available elsewhere 24/7. Each has a CADR of 400 m3/h.
@eth0 @joepie91 Let's find out if this works!

@joepie91 We strive to be accomodating to everyone. We will have CO2 monitoring in the different areas, ventilation will be applied as much as possible.. Air scrubbers/filters would be great but we are not sure we can afford them - event finances are quite tight. Some tips or sponsoring would definitely be welcome here.
In terms of COVID, there will be tests and masks available on site but testing is not mandatory. We ask all visitors to perform a voluntary test upon entering the event.
