@joepie91 I know everyone stayed on XP for that one, if that's what you're referring to 😛
@hazelnot Yep, though it's pretty shocking to see just *how* badly adopted Vista was compared to XP and 7
@joepie91 oh yeah I'm fully aware
I can only hope Windows 11 is gonna be like that too, but idk, it really feels like people are even more entrenched in corporate shit than they were 20 years ago
@joepie91 the thing I'm mainly worried about is that he bought some nonsense he's not even using (Corel VideoStudio Pro for example) that's gonna stop him from switching just based on FOMO 💀
He said his options are Mint or Ubuntu, I told him Mint is good but maybe look into Fedora KDE instead of Ubuntu
No idea how well he's gonna do with that information, he's better at computer stuff than most people his age at least, so that's gonna give him an advantage, I'm just not entirely sure if/when he's gonna have to use the terminal for *something* how he's gonna react
Haven't used Mint in years either, at least with something with KDE I can mostly direct him towards Discover so he can use Flatpaks and stuff and the built-in Flatpak permissions UI 😅
@hazelnot (If you want to understand what I mean with the Vista thing, look at the StatCounter Global Stats for Windows versions distribution with max history back to 2009)
