do people really feel good after doing self-care things? I don't feel better after I exercise, I just feel tired. I don't feel better after I shower, I just feel wet. getting out from feeling hungry/dehydrated is legit good, but then I feel indigested instead. even socializing just leaves me feeling lonelier afterwards.

@octopus I do, but crucially only with a subset of things. I think what constitutes 'self-care' is highly variable and dependent on personal circumstances
