I don't know exactly what Github was trying to achieve with their site-wide "you can use copilot" mail push but so far almost every single comment I've seen about it has been to the effect of "no, fuck off, I do not want this"
@joepie91 I had a thought that maybe it's the strategy, everyone talks about a GitHub feature that might be tempting to some. But that looks like a no.
@joepie91 there also was a pretty big mention (/advert) in the new vscode release notes :(
