journalism, UHC CEO
Rarely has manipulation of the public opinion by media outlets, been as obvious as with the UHC CEO assassination.
There's no end to articles decrying widespread "polarization" on the matter that simply doesn't exist, opinion pieces full of non-sequiturs and strangely aggressive pearl-clutching that is totally out of character for the outlet that publishes it, or direct copy-pastes of statements from politicians, cops and executives that are superficially laundered as 'news'.
If you've ever been in doubt about whether the media is there to inform and support the public or just to protect the established power structures, well, here's your answer.

@maggiejk I had been reading https://www.nytimes.com/2024/12/12/us/luigi-mangione-gunman-united-healthcare-shooting.html and the first thing that occurred to me was "this sounds like a textbook example of disability struggles and lack of support"
re: journalism, UHC CEO
@joepie91 @maggiejk In the case of NYT, this is pretty much confirmed https://www.kenklippenstein.com/p/ny-times-doesnt-want-you-to-see-mangiones (apologies for linking a substack - it's where the story is...)

@joepie91 it’s really gross to me that his social media accounts were shut down simply because he got arrested.
I wasn’t aware that an arrest violated terms of service on any of these platforms.
But anyway this is supposed to be history of his Reddit account if anyone is interested.
Sounds like he had chronic pain and some chronic illnesses which a whole bunch of us can relate to.
