the UH shooting, but on a meta level
I am equal parts excited and nervous about this situation, I think. A lot of people are learning something about direct action right now, and I am hoping that the thing they are learning is "direct action gets results fast", and not "shoot people when you disagree" or "guns are great".
With some luck, this will be a pivotal moment where people realize that others *are* in fact in the same boat, and it can become a driver for a collective push for change, with (generally less lethal) direct action as an accepted part of that.
But it could also go horribly wrong.

@silvermoon82 This does already seem to be happening, judging from the scramble at other insurers to increase executive security, and Blue Cross Blue Shield cancelling their announced change regarding anesthesia coverage.

@joepie91 fill me in on the results bit
(apart from the self-evident good of there being one less billionaire obvs)
the UH shooting, but on a meta level
@ifixcoinops Blue Cross Blue Shield unwisely scheduled their announcement of worsened anesthesia coverage on the day of the UnitedHealthcare shooting... and just announced that they will be cancelling that announced change. "Due to misinformation". Mhmm.

@joepie91 hmm, it's almost as if justice is a good thing

@joepie91
I share your hope that people take the lesson on direct action in general, not necessarily shooting people.
At the same time, I hope more CEOs take home the "you might get shot" lesson that the Anthem CEO did, and things get materially less horrible for Americans.
