the thing that is wild about this to me is that, okay, they're claiming they're trying not to ding people with other job responsibilities. but the way that promotions work is that you basically have to take on senior responsibilities in order to then be officially *given* those responsibilities. so if someone's starting to push less code that could very well mean they're starting to take on more higher-level work.
@maya The only thing that comes to mind while reading about the people making "algorithms and AI tools to identify underperforming workers" is that I think this is what the term 'class traitors' was invented for.
