although Codeberg pages is being slowly deprecated, my website hosted on it runs substantially faster due to my PR that now allows compressed versions of pages to be served: https://codeberg.org/Codeberg/pages-server/issues/387
files are now between 4 and 28 times smaller, meaning substantially less data needs to be downloaded to load them

essentially, the project is now in maintenance mode and no longer accepting features, and at least Codeberg e.V. is discussing whether to stop promoting it publicly. the actual server is going to stay up for the forseeable future, but I kind of see it as being soft-deprecated due to the fact that the code base is difficult to maintain
