Amazon, unethical consumption under capitalism

So in february i saw a good price on an ssd but with an estimated delivery for August. That looked odd so I figured I’d roll the dice. In August they said my order had been delayed 3 months. I figured it would just keep getting bumped by three months until one of us gave up. But I just got an email! It shipped!

@marlies I did this with a weirdly cheap NAS case. It got stuck for months and months and months until they eventually shipped it!

... and I received a large box containing a smaller box containing a USB 2.0 hub. Which they then refunded and cancelled my order...

@joepie91 🤨wonder what I’ll get

re: Amazon, unethical consumption under capitalism

@marlies (As a sidenote, I tend to make an ethical exception for this very specific case, because it is extremely likely to lose them money to fulfill such an order, even if they end up shipping some nonsense - so by that point it's more sabotage than unethical consumption IMO)

@joepie91 you’re right, i just wanted to pre-emptively filter out knee-jerk reactions
