I'm not sure what to do with all these social media places. LinkedIn is easy, that's for making sure people know I can hold down a job, in case I get laid off and want another one.

Facebook is for my family and running club.

Bluesky seems to be where the tech crowd is assembling.

Given that my friends are here, maybe Mastodon is for backchannelling about my posts on the others? "Look over here! I wrote about some cool CSS thing ... but seriously, I'm just so tired."

@rachelandrew To me, fedi/Mastodon is broadly "a place to hang out with people I actually like, free from toxic clout-seeking" though admittedly that's at least partly a product of the (de)federation policies of this instance (and as a result I feel like I can talk a lot more freely about things)
