So after last year's #nixcon having had several queer people with cat ears on stage, this year I can see only guys in the speakers list. After all what happened within the community in the last year this is absolutely not surprising, but it still makes me sad to see.
The people who cared about the big issues and putting energy into fixing them were more likely to leave the #nix community in frustration.
The massive brain drain this caused has major impact all over the community, the review bottleneck only being one of many areas.
And the important bit is, time is running. I've found a new home and new cool projects to do in #lix, and it's increasingly unlikely that I'll go back to my Nixpkgs work. Several factions are attempting to fork, and the more they invest into that the less likely they are to come back as well.
Unfortunately, almost half a year has already been wasted with kicking proper decision making down the road by organizing a vote.
