This came up on a different platform and I couldn't resist a poll of my own:
Scenario:
You're at a museum, looking at a display case. Inside the case are various museum objects with labels giving context. You also notice another item in the case: a boxy device collecting data on the humidity and temperature inside the case. (It may or may not have a display showing this information, but it's either storing or sending that data somewhere.)
How do you feel about it?
@curatedjenny (Notable context: I do not work in this specialization at all, so I don't know what is and isn't possible, and this is just a general tendency to make things look aesthetically nice)
@joepie91 I get you. I'm in agreement with you, I think. On a practical level you sometimes have to see the device (if it has a display: this might mean it's meant to be manually read by a human rather than sending data to the cloud), but often that's not the case.
