When people give numbers they’re generally less than 10 requests per second.
Is DDoSing your average website really this easy?

@erincandescent 10 requests per second is nothing for a static site (or a well-optimized non-static one for that matter), of course, but I can think of quite a few blog and CMS systems, for example, that would absolutely buckle under that load out of the box on a cheap VPS...
I suspect that that's what's going on.
