watching smart home automations on youtube since I messed up my knee, because being able to shout commands at alexa is so much easier than trying to get up and do it myself

also though: I appreciate how much smart home gear is in this home even though they put seemingly zero effort into their home decor 😂
apparently these smart home tours are a series
and I don't understand the appeal of all these guys having tablet dashboards around their home
if you're the kind of person who does all of this: do you not carry your phone with you 24/7? do you not have a smart watch? do you not have a voice assistant?
aren't those easier and cheaper?
@kf I suspect it's the sci-fi aesthetic, to be honest. Makes a lot more sense when you think of these 'smart home' installations as a form of interior decoration for nerds!
