after dealing with a few 'professional' moving companies with slick websites and ticketing systems, I phoned a Cardiff company off the back of a recommendation and it is so refreshing talking to the person and just booking it in then and there
like I just Phoned the Man With A Van and they were like "sure we can do friday, it'll be <about a grand> to drive to London and back, just text us the details" and I did and now they've booked it in, all within about 5 minutes
what a concept!
@eta Reminds me of my move. The 'professional' moving company I hired sent the wrong people (I asked for packing/tidying *and* moving, not just moving...) *several* times in a row.
Eventually told them not to bother anymore and just refund me, and managed to get a phone number of "a guy I once worked with" from one of the movers, called them up, made an appointment, et voila. Everything packed up and moved in a day, no issues.
