@zkat Not *quite* the same thing, but I seem to be regularly baffling doctors by having 10% kidney function, correcting their assumption about me being on dialysis and saying that I'm not, and then describing my symptoms as "yeah it's a bit annoying every now and then".
Like, they're clearly expecting me to be barely functional in everyday life at my level of kidney function, and yet my biggest practical problem is the deluge of hospital appointments 🙃
