So, I have the feeling that the #fediverse is a very left-wing dominated space. Let's see if that feeling is correct.

Please boost for reach.

I consider myself:

@ainmosni There are definitely parts leaning right, but the parts leaning left tend to block servers that lean right obviously.

@Anke I'd hope that would only go for the bigoted ones, not the ones that are right wing without bigotry.

@ainmosni @Anke I mean, this may end up being a definitional issue, but by the only definition I've ever found that makes sense (left = egalitarian, right = hierarchical), bigotry *has* to exist on some level for right-wing ideology to function, because there needs to be a 'lesser' class of people for a 'justified' hierarchy to be able to exist.

Interestingly enough, I consider those definitions more to the progressive vs conservative axis, less to the left/righ axis, which I've more seen as group priority vs individual priority.

But I'm of the opinion that "right vs left" is too limited to really describe politics.

@ainmosni @Anke That I agree with; I tend to avoid the terms for that reason. But if they must be used, then the egalitarian vs. hierarchy is the only internally consistent definition I've seen of, that also actually matches the real-world usage closely enough to be useful :p
