@spots1000@woem.men In the past I've found almost the opposite: the older the printer, the more likely it is that there are cheap-as-chips generic cartridges available for it (although spare parts are more of a challenge).

Of course this approach wouldn't scale, but that's not really the point; rather it would be to extend the life of printers until it actually *mechanically* fails, as e-waste reduction
