Has anyone made a 'printer converter box' yet that's basically a single-board computer connecting to arbitrary printers using CUPS drivers and then exposes it on the network under a bunch of standard protocols? To give old printers support for newer protocols
@joepie91 yes I’ve seen that marketed as an airprint server (as airprint is just cups+mdns i think that qualifies)
@joepie91 while I'm not aware of a specific product, if the printer is already exposed to CUPS, you're only one step away from sharing it on the network - https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/CUPS/Printer_sharing
