^ That's a 60MPH freeway, typically running at 70-80 (100km/h, 120-ish km/h). In order to get to that gas station (a common task at that intersection), you have to cross 3 lanes of heavy traffic, and often times people are still going freeway speeds by time they get to the rightmost lane.
