I consider myself an anarchist, and I believe quite strongly in anarchist principles. And yet, I don't have anarchist 'branding' anywhere in my outward identity.
One of the reasons for that is that I've been very disappointed with the praxis in nominally anarchist circles around me.
I should not encounter ableism in anarchist circles, and yet I do. I should not encounter racism in anarchist circles, and yet I do. And so on, and so forth. None of these things should be as widespread as they are, if people actually lived by their stated ideals.
And all too often, the people I run into who *actually* put anarchist ideals into practice, unreservedly so, and on contentious topics as well, do not even identify themselves as anarchists!
In that context, does it really make sense to brand myself as an anarchist? #Anarchism
