@joepie91 before it gets dark, you gotta set off each one of your fireworks to make sure they work 🙃

(I do assume it's a "oh, let's try one now" thing, at least in part)

@joepie91 both dog and i jumped out of our respective skins on christmas day when someone set off a firework that did nothing but make a very loud bang at low altitude. it was after dark but there was nothing to see anyway, so i assume it's just for the power of making things go bang. dog didn't stop shaking for half an hour after we got home.
