i haven't given up on federation or anything, but the enthusiasm for threads federation seems really naive to me.

Roughly the same demographic that you would find on the "white tech dude who inexplicably gets paid large amounts of money to talk about how independent websites are the future but mysteriously never seems to hand the mic to any of the people involved" speaker circuit
