Sometimes someone with literally just a language I don't speak on their profile will send me a follow request and I... would like to be able to accept them but I literally have no idea what the stuff they're posting means so I can't really vet them 💀
I got a request from someone who speaks Polish and French and I assume they're probably a cool person but if they speak Polish and French and I speak Romanian and English, it's uh,,, ???
@hazelnot Maybe they do *understand* Romanian and/or English but just don't feel comfortable enough with it to speak in it yet?
Like, that's how I interact with a lot of languages - I can only really *speak* Dutch and English, but I can make a reasonable amount of sense of probably like half the European languages when reading them in context?
@joepie91 Well, fair, but I have 17 follow requests I don't really have the energy to deal with, and they only post in Polish and I'd have to take every single one of their posts and paste it into DeepL to understand what they're talking about and I'm too tired for that
