Cities Skylines II copaganda

Imagine making a game in 2023 where the citizens constantly demand more police and even a city with 3000 inhabitants is described as having "street thugs and roaming gangs" to apocalyptic proportions 🙃️

Cities Skylines II copaganda

Ah yes, bring in cops or else the Massive Crime Wave™️ hits the area and organized crime takes over the city and the radio starts playing PSAs about how people should stay indoors until the cops "improve" the situation 👌

There's a welfare office building in the game that apparently reduces crime, will build that and see how much it helps cause I really don't wanna build police stations 😬

Gotta unlock it first though (the cops are, of course, unlocked earlier)

It... barely does :<

I had to relent and build a police station after all >.>

This game is making me feel gross

Cities Skylines II copaganda, violence

This game is so ridiculous that before I built the police station I had a 90% crime rate. I'm not 100% sure on what that means but if it means what I think it does, the creators of this game are implying that the only reason 90% of people don't go out and start mugging and stabbing each other is cause they're too scared they'll be arrested

I'm not sure what that says about the devs 💀

re: Cities Skylines II copaganda, violence

@hazelnot I have similar questions about the continued car-centric-ness...

re: Cities Skylines II copaganda, violence

@joepie91 Honestly this is the least car-centric city builder I've played so far so at least there's that, and the mixed use zoning is cool too I thought nobody would ever add that unless someone made a proper leftist game on this topic lol

re: Cities Skylines II copaganda, violence

@hazelnot While it's true that it's the least car-centric "classical" city builder I've seen so far, that more feels like an indictment of the genre, to be honest. Especially considering where the developers are located...

(The mixed-use zoning still seems to be extremely limited? And once again the non-car road types seem to be super limited...)

re: Cities Skylines II copaganda, violence

@joepie91 Yeahhh fair

But yeah it feels like the devs just kinda went in thinking "ok how do we make SimCity 6 and 7" and just did that instead of like, actually thinking about wtf they're doing
