Folks in : even if you don't plan on going to this December and are not involved in its organization, perhaps you could help make the event a little safer for vulnerable folks? :boost_requested:

All that's needed is for people to hand out masks outside of the venue: social.pixie.town/@joepie91/11

Please let me know if you'd like to help out on this - I probably can't be in Hamburg myself, but I'd be happy to contribute what I can from here to make this happen.

@joepie91 I plan on bringing boxes of FFP2 masks and handing them out. My original idea was to distribute them through the venue on highly frequented paths with some sort of sign, but handing them out at the front gate sounds even better.

@joepie91 To that end, if anyone has a source for masks that is priced as lower than 100 masks for 8.96€, I'll take that :)

@farhaven I don't think I've seen a better price than that for FFP2, at least! Curious where you are finding those.

@joepie91 It's one of the results on Amazon, but I'm not sure whether I can trust that one :D

@farhaven Ah yeah, I probably wouldn't trust those for their FFP2 rating, but in the case of handing out masks I think it's less important - proper FFP2 would be ideal for filtering 'incoming' air, but even if they're worse masks, they would still at least reduce the risk of 'outgoing' air, thereby providing significant additional protection for vulnerable folks with their own masks, AIUI.

I'm not sure it would be financially viable to get known-good FFP2s at this scale, so if not, then "best-effort" is IMO better than not being able to hand out masks at all :)

@joepie91 Yeah, I do have some leads for more trustworthy sources, but I'm with you on the "A bad mask is better than none" aspect of it all
