It only just now dawned on me how several of the hospital folks I've spoken with, have provided explicit instructions on communication preferences and assumptions, unprompted
Like, not just "it's best to reach me by ____, and then I'll usually answer within ____ time", but also stuff like "if I don't answer after ____ time, you should assume that I've overlooked it and send me a reminder"
This is... an uncommon experience for me, when communicating outside of my own social group
re: positive, hospital stuff, but not medical
It also really illustrates for me how much better things *could* be, when folks actually make an effort to accommodate
