A heuristic: if someone conflates "what capitalism is" and "what trade/economics are", then they probably do not understand capitalism well enough to be speaking authoritatively about it, regardless of whether they think it is good or bad
@joepie91 Commercialism : Having money of some form, allowing trade.
Capitalism: Putting in controls to ensure a small subset of investors get unfair advantage, dominating the markets and threatening lawful rule.

capitalism: forcing people who previously weren't in a money economy into a money economy, by stealing their land, destroying the ecology of their land to grow commodity goods for export, or mine minerals, poisoning the land and water. pushing the people into exploitative labour, then if they can't afford to trade goods and services within this new economy, offering them credits, which further push them into subservient dependency cycles.
