Okay, I have to admit, I did not have "piracy site opens physical branches" on my bingo card

@skippingmoonrocks Hmm, I can't seem to find anything about that - according to Wikipedia, the name refers to just not being a member of a music retail organization. Would be interested in a link about this if you know more :)
@joepie91 no links, just fake memories apperently. I thought they started out as pirates sharing copied tapes and then somehow grew into a big legal chain. If you can't find it maybe someone fed me nonsense :)
@skippingmoonrocks I'm wondering if you might be getting it mixed up with Radio Veronica, perhaps - they were originally a pirate radio station that later "went legit" and became one of the big commercial radio stations.
@joepie91 no, but am I right to remember the veronica pirates were literally on a boat at some point?
@skippingmoonrocks Yep! They were broadcasting from the North Sea, I believe.
@joepie91 oh that's actually a pretty good global distribution rather than the standard "10 in the US, and one in the UK"
@joepie91 isn't this how the free record shop started?
