Did you know: in the Netherlands, you can now check into public transit using a bank card for all modes of transit, throughout the entire country (though a few local buses still need to be upgraded before the end of the year). Including international bank cards and creditcards.

@joepie91 yeah I've used Google pay on my watch recently on a visit to Amsterdam and it was awesome

@noiob There's definitely still a couple of quirks to it, but overall it seems to have significantly increased the accessibility of public transit.

My main concern now is that I hope they won't renege on the "we will still have the prepaid cards" thing, which is already pretty questionable from a privacy perspective, but at least better than bank cards

@joepie91 Yes, I experienced this with my foreign card; check in costs €20 and then check out counts as another check in, so I pay €40 per trip.

Calling customer support from abroad went how you’d expect it to (you called the wrong number, please call this 0900 that’s only reachable from Dutch numbers)

So I disputed the charge and ended up with travelling for free. So would recommend, 10/10, as long as you can dispute the charge.
