Does anyone know what the actual origin is of the "you'll grow more conservative as you get older" trope? It smells an awful lot like it started life as a propaganda campaign.

@joepie91 my impression is that it originates from the kind of wealthy families that need to dissuade their idealistic children from giving away wealth in ways that actually matter.

"you'll grow more conservative as you get older", more like "i'm white and i got more capital and i grow more conservative to protect and uphold white supremacy which lets me have this privilege because of oppression"
