I love it when discord will simply refuse to load one specific persons DMs. You can load and send messages to everyone else, just not this one person
@FirstProgenitor It has always impressed me how Discord somehow manages to function *like* a decentralized P2P system reliability-wise, without actually being one
@joepie91 @FirstProgenitor I suppose sufficiently large apps with load-balanced and sharded databases end up being pretty close to P2P, architecturally
@retr0id @FirstProgenitor Sort of, but also sort of not - crucially, they can still have central points of authority for stuff like ordering, which *should* make them way more reliable
