I hear that so often. Feels like citation is needed otherwise it’s just FUD. Do people really believe that the whole internet will collapse if we go back to the contextual ads?

@kdzwinel Considering that actual trials show that contextual ads provide *equal or more* revenue than personalized ads... well.

@kdzwinel (Of course massive advertising companies like Google have every reason to perpetuate the myth that personalized advertising is better, because without personalized advertising, they would become redundant as a middleman)

@joepie91 do you know if we have any studies on this side of the argument (contextual ads performing similarly/better) that we could point to? I'd love to dig a bit deeper into this.

@kdzwinel I know that there have been several studies, but I don't have the spoons right now to dig them up, unfortunately. I do recall most of them being internal studies by advertisers and publishers (who were trying to figure out whether there was actually a point to personalized ads)
