Isn't it remarkable how *every single time* some asshat tries to fuck with the fediverse by corporatizing or full-text-indexing it, they *always* justify it by saying "well it's inevitable, it'll happen eventually", apparently not realizing that *they are the one making it happen*.

@joepie91 I can't find the reference right now, but this reminds me of the "silicon valley prediction trick": Instead of framing things as a consequence of your own actions that you might be morally responsible for, state them as "predictions" of what will happen as a consequence of an inevitable march of technology.
