@whatanerd I do not understand why language auto-detection apparently isn't implemented. There's a well-tested library for this from Google(!) that has been around for a decade by this point and works *completely* offline, with a shockingly high accuracy rate.

@joepie91 Along with just letting me have some checkboxes in settings that are like "I speak these languages."
Which would be infinitely more useful than "Please, filter out everything except these."
@joepie91 @whatanerd its not well implemented for those who want to improve their language skills - the destination language is hardcoded to your UI language but how well it works depends on the toot language setting (which I keep forgetting to use) so I often end up having to use Deepl Windows client anyway (which is also flaky); although I can read NL, DE and FR fairly well if I toot in those languages I use Deepl to double check that I'm not making too many errors..
