meta, Hachyderm, FediBlock
The more I read conversations between Hachyderm users, the more the whole instance starts to look like a threat to the community to me, honestly.
Why is everybody over there constantly talking about marketing strategies and pivoting and onboarding of brands like fedi is some exciting new resource to exploit?
They still don't seem to realize that they are talking about people's metaphorical living rooms instead of some corporate platform, and repeatedly violating any concept of consent in the process.
That apparently the admin decided *not* to retract the "let's invite corporations" plan does not exactly help either...
I'm inclined to call this a #FediBlock recommendation, but receipts-wise I don't know that I want to call out any specific users, considering that this seems to just be the vibe of the whole instance, and it's not exactly very hard to find.

@joepie91 yeah plush.city has m.s set to silenced/follower-approval mode, and HUGE amounts of my follow requests from m.s are either obvious bots or marketing fuckers who I wish I could launch into the sun

@joepie91 I 100% agree but the folks at hachyderm belong to a crowd of cool tech celebrities and they do have a following, so people will just go there because their idols are there
re: meta, Hachyderm, FediBlock
To clarify: it's not that Hachyderm *only* contains this sort of thing, there is definitely a mixed population. But *every* time I see this stuff it is from either Hachyderm or m.s, and that's not good.
