not gonna lie it's a big wonder for me how instance admins manage to run their instances on Raspberry Pi and Arduino and other circuits
I thought you guys had big ass server blocks like they do in data centers lol
how do you even do that??? this feels unreal i thought it would require lots of hardware

@tillianisafox Honestly, a big part of the operational costs for major tech companies has absolutely nothing to do with the service they're supposedly providing - it goes to absurdly complex marketing and analytics systems, that just straight-up aren't necessary if you're not a corporation.
And from the remaining costs, many costs are labour costs (that volunteer-run stuff doesn't really have), not hosting costs; hosting stuff on modern hardware is actually pretty cheap, and as long as the software is moderately efficient, you don't need a lot of hardware at all!
