Giving different reverse image searches a picture of a car...

Google: "Hmmm... potato? Okay, here's two other boats"
Yandex: "Ah yes, a BrandName Modelname from 1981 in teal blue, in front of wood paneling with indoors lighting, here's 20 other pictures like that"

It's frankly disturbing how accurate Yandex is (also with faces)... what the hell kind of tech are they using there? And it better not be used in a fucking drone

@joepie91 I vaguely remember seeing some OSINT-related blog post, where someone searched an (original) photo of some hillside, with no particular landmarks visible, and yandex was able to identify the location.

@retr0id Yeah, this absolutely doesn't surprise me. It's completely absurd. I've fed it pictures of obscure products from 30 years ago, and it'd happily trot up to me with 10 different photos by 10 different people taken from different angles of (a variant of) the same product. Whereas Google just goes "hmm, yes, those are colors, these pictures have similar colors?"
