This may be uncomfortable to hear, but it’s essential to say clearly…there is no such thing as a “non-racist” white person.

Whiteness itself is not just a neutral identity.

It’s a social construct built historically in opposition to Blackness.

The very idea of being “white” was created to define superiority and to justify the exclusion, exploitation, and oppression of those deemed “non-white.”

That means whiteness, by design, is entangled with racism.

I don't like this situation 😣 But I agree that acknowledging it is much better than trying to stay comfortable by ignoring it.
