something i would really like to see more of is web based, multiplayer games

not couch coop. im specifically looking for games 2 or more people can play over a synchronous time period, ideally with no downloads/installs, for me and my non-gamer friends/partner

the web used to have *so* many of these, im thinking things like epic mafia, club penguin, various flash games, 2 player neopets games

what happened to all the games?!

I've found a handful on itch.io but its shockingly hard to search. coop / multiplayer games on itch are often couch multiplayer, not networked multiplayer... lots of networked games no longer have servers either :(

something like https://summer-afternoon.vlucendo.com/ is literally the best in class right now, and its *barely* a game. its a delightful couple minutes though :)
no login/sign up, just dropped into an explorative space with your friend to see together, works on mobile (!!!)

i dont mind things like https://solaris.games/ but its not quite synchronous, which is explicitly what I'm looking for
