I can live with having QTs on here, I guess, as long as I can opt out of them (ideally with options to turn them off for individual posts as well as to opt out fully for my whole account). I don't really want them, though.

provided we can turn them off, I'd be somewhat less concerned about people using them to dunk/dogpile, but I also don't want fedi to turn into twitter, in which I have an endless stream of the world's worst takes constantly shoved into my eyeballs because my mutuals are QTing them to say "this is wrong and you suck!"

like, they're right, the take is wrong and it sucks

that's why I don't want to see it 2000 times a day
